When someone types “event management company” or “buy perfume online” into Google, they want an answer now. Google Ads puts your business in front of them at that exact moment, ahead of competitors, and you usually pay only when they click.

A Google Ads setup that works in another market isn’t enough on its own here. UAE customers search in two languages, mostly on their phones, and compare before they decide. This guide walks through what we do on the campaigns we run for our clients.

How Google Ads works, briefly

You choose the searches your customers make, write ads for them, and set a budget. When someone searches those terms, Google decides which ads show and in what order. That depends on what you bid, how good your ad is, and the page it sends people to.

Ads can appear on Google Search, YouTube and sites across Google’s display network. For most businesses, Search is the place to start, because it reaches people who are already looking.

What to set up before your first campaign

  • One clear goal: a call, a form, a WhatsApp message or a sale. A campaign chasing everything achieves nothing.
  • A dedicated landing page: don’t send ads to your homepage. Send them to a page that answers what the person searched for, with an obvious way to get in touch.
  • Conversion tracking: connect the campaign to what matters, such as forms sent, calls made and WhatsApp clicks. Without it, you’ll know how many people clicked, not how many became customers.

Arabic and English: two campaigns, not one

People searching in Arabic use different words from people searching in English, and they expect an ad that speaks their language. We run separate campaigns for each language, and we write the Arabic ads in Arabic from the start.

Spelling matters too. Arabic searchers often type the same word with and without a hamza. In our own keyword research in the UAE, both spellings of “Google Ads” in Arabic were among the most searched. Miss one, and you miss half the people searching.

Budget: start small, then back what works

  1. Start with a small set of search terms closest to a buying decision.
  2. Add negative keywords to filter out the wrong searches, such as people looking for jobs or free options.
  3. Track the cost per lead, not the cost per click.
  4. Move budget step by step to the searches and ads that bring customers.

Mistakes that waste budget

  • Sending every ad to the homepage.
  • Mixing Arabic and English in the same ad group.
  • Running without negative keywords.
  • Judging the campaign by clicks instead of customers.
  • Stopping after a few days, before the campaign has had time to learn.

How we run digital advertising at Talk The Walk

  1. We plan each campaign around your goal.
  2. We write the ads in Arabic and English and build the landing pages.
  3. We review results week by week.

Our ads run alongside social media and content, so the same message reaches people everywhere.

For the Mother of the Nation Festival, our team planned and managed AED 500,000 of paid digital media, alongside social media and live coverage. The festival welcomed 151,000 visitors in ten days, with 34 million impressions online.

FAQ

How much does Google Ads cost in the UAE?

You set the daily or monthly budget, and you usually pay when someone clicks your ad. The cost per click depends on how much competition there is for the search terms in your sector.

Can I run Google Ads in Arabic?

Yes. Arabic works best in its own campaigns, with Arabic search terms and ads written in Arabic from the start, not translated.

How long does Google Ads take to work?

Ads can start showing once they are approved, but the first weeks are for learning: finding the searches that bring real customers, then putting more budget behind them.

Google Ads or social media ads?

Search ads catch people looking for you right now. Social ads create interest in people who aren't searching yet. Most businesses need both, in different amounts.
